Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

• Email address for account login, password reset, support, and deletion verification when you add or sign in with an email.
• Supabase user ID and app user IDs, including guest user IDs, needed for account, sync, purchases, and deletion processing.
• Reading preferences such as WPM, theme, font, word color, and genre preferences.
• Reading activity such as viewed stories, saves, likes, completion progress, and weekly goal progress. In PagePace 1.2, Stats words advanced and playback time are device-local.
• In PagePace 1.2, liking a temporary or saved reading stores identifying details locally for this device profile, such as its title, available author or source, and a safe source link. Likes do not keep another copy of article text or EPUB files. These details may remain after closing a temporary reading or deleting its Bookshelf copy, until you remove the Like or successfully delete the current account profile.
• Personal story text you choose to save after pasting, Safari sharing, or importing a supported document. Signed-in saved text stories may sync through Supabase. Some legacy guest story records may also be cloud-synced. EPUB content and position are local to the device owner; we do not promise that all books sync across devices.
• In PagePace 1.2, Read now for Safari, pasted, or document text does not save the reading body to Bookshelf, but related Stats or import-meter data may persist. Native share capture can temporarily stage shared text before handoff.
• The updated PagePace 1.2 Safari allowance uses a random credential kept in secure device storage separately from your account. The server stores its keyed hash, an article digest, calendar period and timezone, import-operation state, and an optional account link to enforce the allowance and avoid charging a retry twice. Allowance records do not contain article text, titles, source URLs, or the raw device credential. Source URLs may still appear in saved readings; custom Browse picks remain local. Text and files you select are processed even if you do not save them.
• Device Safari recovery records keep operation and saved-reading identifiers, not another copy of the text. Plus total-import counts labelled as recorded on this device are local display metadata, not permanent server history, and may be lost after reinstalling.
• Public story submissions, reports, blocks, creator terms acceptance, moderation status, moderation notes, and aggregate creator stats from PagePace 1.1.
• Purchase entitlement information from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
• Reading reminder preference and locally scheduled notification identifiers if you enable reminders.

Data We Do Not Collect

PagePace does not request photo library, camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, health, or broad browsing-history permissions. This does not include URLs you expressly share with PagePace for Safari import. The current app does not include a photo upload feature, broad photo library access, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking.

AI-Assisted Content

In PagePace 1.1, some PagePace-provided stories may be created, selected, edited, or reviewed with AI-assisted editorial tools under human-directed review. The PagePace 1.1 app does not send personal stories, imported files, public submissions, account data, or reading activity to a third-party AI service for generation, review, or training.

PagePace 1.2 does not add an AI catalog to its visible Browse experience and does not send personal imports, account data, or reading activity to a third-party AI service for generation, review, or training.

How We Use Data

• Authenticate users and protect account access.
• Sync eligible saves, likes, history, progress, settings, and signed-in saved text stories.
• Review, moderate, unpublish, and display PagePace 1.1 public stories.
• Unlock purchased PagePace Plus access and restore purchases.
• Improve the in-app reading and recommendation experience.
• Respond to support, privacy, report, block, and deletion requests.

User Content

Personal Bookshelf readings are private. PagePace 1.2 does not support new public submissions. PagePace 1.1 may continue to offer public submissions where available; its public stories remain subject to moderation and existing controls.

Payments

PagePace Plus purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. RevenueCat manages purchase entitlements and restore purchases. PagePace does not directly receive or store full payment card numbers.

RevenueCat may process purchase history, subscription status, app user IDs, product identifiers, prices, renewal state, and related subscription events to provide entitlement validation, restore purchases, fraud prevention, customer history, charts, and subscription analytics for PagePace. PagePace uses this information to operate subscriptions, troubleshoot purchase access, and understand aggregate subscription performance, not for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Third-Party Services

Browse and Your picks open external websites in your browser. Those websites receive normal browser requests and may collect information such as your IP address, cookies, and browser information under their own privacy policies. PagePace does not control their data practices.

Opening a Browse link does not automatically send the page text to PagePace. If you explicitly share or import content, the PagePace processing and storage described in this policy applies, including eligible saved-text sync. Adding a custom link does not authorize PagePace to monitor your browsing history.

PagePace uses Supabase for authentication, cloud sync, database records, Edge Functions, and account deletion processing. PagePace uses RevenueCat to manage purchase entitlements and restore purchases. These service providers process data needed to provide app functionality, security, support, billing-related records, service monitoring, and subscription analytics for PagePace. PagePace does not use these services for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and the current app does not configure a third-party AI service to train on user content, account data, or reading activity.

Account Deletion

You can request email account deletion or delete guest data in the app from Settings > Account. Deletion removes or anonymizes eligible PagePace account or guest records unless we retain them only as needed for legal, security, fraud prevention, tax, billing, purchase-record, or safety purposes.

In PagePace 1.2, successful in-app account deletion removes EPUBs, Stats, reader preferences, engagement data, onboarding data, local personal stories, Safari recovery and display records, and personal Browse picks for the current profile on this device. If deletion reports an error, it has not completed; some local data may already have been removed. Retry or contact support. This does not erase another profile, copies on other devices, original Files downloads, or backups. Uninstalling the app does not delete cloud-account records. Active subscriptions must be cancelled through the store where they were purchased.

The updated Safari allowance retains minimal pseudonymous current-period usage after account or guest deletion to prevent refilling it. The account link is removed and the secure device credential remains. Server allowance records expire at the monthly reset and are removed by the next successful hourly cleanup. Secure storage may survive an iOS reinstall, but this cannot be guaranteed on every device or installation.
